A busy morning in sweltering heat

Today started pretty well, so we decided to test some limits with Ms. e.b. by attempting some periods of forced separation from Marshall.  The results were good, but she sure put up a fight!  Our apologies to anyone eating breakfast this morning at our hotel in Insadong !!  After breakfast, we had some more play time in the hotel playroom, and once again Ms. e.b. just wanted to watch big brother going bonkers in the ball pit.

A little later, we made some serious progress in our relationship with e.b., and all it took were....bubbles!!!  She loved them!

e.b. and mommy having fun with bubbles!!

Beautiful girl...

A little later, we headed out by cab to the Korean War Memorial and Museum.  We really enjoyed visiting the grounds on our last visit to Seoul, and we suspected that C would love all the planes, tanks and trucks!  On our way to the museum, e.b. decided to get a little car sick...all over Marshall...

Undeterred, we pressed on through the heat and explored the awesome displays and poignant remembrances honoring those who served and died in the Korean War.

C immediately fell in love with a huge B-52 bomber!!

A wave from e.b.!!!  Daddy and daughter still a bit of a mess from the cab adventure...

Ohnie and C exploring a fighter jet.  C is so into logos in American society that he now equates the red and blue yin/yang symbol from the middle of the Korean flag with, of course, the Pepsi logo.  (Note: the fact that he has never actually HAD a Pepsi is apparently of no consequence to the boy).  He has a toy Korean Airlines plane at home that he calls "Pepsi."  When we were preparing to board our flight in Dallas, C takes a look at our Korean Airlines plane and exclaims (quite loudly to the mostly Korean crowd waiting to board), "we're going on a REAL Pepsi plane!!!"  True to form, when he saw planes like this at the Museum, they were - of course - "Pepsi planes."

C operating some heavy artillery...

A truck!!  (We didn't tell him it was from the wrong side...)

This afternoon, we hope to do a little more shopping and exploring in the markets in Insadong, and we might grab some more traditional "American" food, as poor C has really exhausted his tolerance for exotic cuisine.  After that, it will be off to bed so we can catch our flight HOME tomorrow morning!!  We are so excited!  We know tomorrow will be a long and exhausting day, but so, so worth it to finally have us all together at home!

"For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth.  From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother’s womb.  I will ever praise you."  Psalm 71:5-6
