since wednesday...

after our wonderful wednesday we finished our first week with daddy at work. we certainly had our ups and downs but yesterday and today spent a lot of time together as a family...we are seeing more and more of e.b.'s personality shine through. she is a ham and when she and c get going it can be super funny. let's see though...thursday we had e.b.'s first pediatrician appointment. she did well but the immunizations will be given at her 2 year check up in october. this appointment ate up most of the day and by the time it was over the kiddos were starving and really not showing happy moods. a quick stop at a mcdonald's drive-thru to grab some french fries (we learned from e.b.'s foster family that she really enjoys french fries) turned their moods around quickly. the rest of the day was a blur till bed time. friday was the hardest day of our week. c is having some hard moments learning how to be a big brother during every waking hour. friday was the first day e.b. chose to wake up before 8am...so c and i had less quiet time together in the morning as we had been having. it was quite obvious that the naps needed to start earlier on friday and both of them slept well. once they were up and had a quick snack we went outside and the fresh air did us well. c was happy just digging in the dirt with his hands and e.b. liked watching him and helping me pull a few weeds. daddy came home early and we went out for pizza. the day ended very well compared to how it started. saturday brought about a new side of e.b. we had not yet seen. the girl can get wild...she and c spent much of the afternoon running around the kitchen island (yes, still the center of our little world) screaming and laughing, copying one another and then wanting to see all the pictures we were taking of the two of them. it is good to see this little girl really laugh and finally engage in some funny behaviors too. today was very similar to yesterday except that we had time outside this morning to chat with neighbors and hang out as a family (yesterday it was raining.)  we will be sorry to see daddy head back to work tomorrow...

friday...

c defending his "turf"
(he's also being a garbage man...
sitting on his "truck", using a plate for a steering wheel,
and he has a real bag full of trash behind him!)

saturday...

technology bringing them together...

and soon they were off and running...

time to rest...

an after dinner call in the phone booth...

Sunday...

and just to make you smile (from saturday)...
